Completed project: a foundation crack repair in Newmarket

A crack in a poured-concrete foundation is the kind of problem homeowners understandably worry about — it is the wall between the basement and the ground outside. This Newmarket basement had a crack that needed sealing before it let water in. The fix is proven and far less disruptive than people expect: injecting the crack from inside and re-parging the wall smooth.

The scope of work

We set a row of injection ports along the length of the crack, then injected a polyurethane resin that fills the crack through the full thickness of the wall and expands to seal it — you can see it foaming back out of the ports as the crack fills, which is how we know the resin has reached all the way through. Once cured, we removed the ports and re-parged the concrete so the wall is smooth and sealed.

The result

Finished foundation repair in a Newmarket basement with the concrete wall re-parged smooth and sealed
After: the wall re-parged smooth, the crack sealed against water for good.

A crack that was one heavy rain away from a wet basement is now sealed and invisible. Done from the inside, it is a same-day job that does not require excavating the yard.

What foundation crack repair costs

  • Single straightforward crack, injected and sealed: $500–$900
  • Longer cracks, corners or multiple cracks: $900–$1,800
  • Cracks with active water or structural movement: quoted after inspection

Crack length, location and whether water is actively getting in drive the price. We assess every crack in person before quoting.

Why hire a professional

  • Injection resin has to reach through the full wall thickness — surface patching alone just hides a crack that keeps leaking.
  • A wet basement is expensive; sealing a crack early is cheap insurance against water damage and mold.
  • The right resin and port spacing for the specific crack is the difference between a permanent seal and a temporary one.
