Why renovate the whole bathroom instead of tiling over it?

Taking a bathroom back to the studs lets us fix the things that caused problems the first time — tired framing, plumbing in the wrong place, and fans that never vented properly. Tiling over old surfaces hides those issues for a year or two until they reappear as a stain on the ceiling below. Done once, done right.
